| Irland In 1977 a group of Americans came
over too Ireland to put on a demonstration
of an unknown sport called Table Soccer
(which also has many other names around
the world).They played on a tournament-soccer
table the most popular at the time .It
caused allot of interest and became
very big in colleges and leisure arcade
clubs. For the next seven years there
where allot of tournaments held and
once a year a major open tournament
(all Ireland open) which attracted players
from all over Europe. Sadly the last
was held in 1984.The cause of the lack
of interest we believe was down too
video games which had a higher turnover
and needed less space. In the summer
of 1987 Jason's arcade in Dublin revived
the game when a member of staff convinced
management to put two tables in their
club and so put life back into the game.
New player's arose and interest took
off again.(Irish Table Soccer Association
was formed)Five other arcade clubs joined
in and yet only lasted two years and
was lost again. In 1995 a table with
the name tornado embossed on its play
field grace our shores. It was more
solid and superior than the tables before,
so a few dedicated players took the
initiative too purchase a number of
tables in hope of being able to put
them somewhere so they could be played.
They where sited in two nightclubs (Lillis
bordello nightclub&ri-ra nightclub)
in Dublin and a few clubs in cork. IN
AUG 2003 nine more tales were purchased
by another dedicated player and two
where sited in THE PALACE BALLROOM in
Dublin and because of interest growing
there are now found in the palace which
is ideal venue for international tournaments.
Membership of the I.F.A is very small
(150 members) but with the hope of help
from the I.T.S.F. (international table
soccer federation)and the B.F.A.(british
foosball association) and our friends
around the world our beloved sport will
live and prosper again.

| Hong Kong Officially founded in late 2001, the Hong Kong foosball scene has been active and growing for several years. Comprised of a dedicated core group of players, a great place to play, weekly tournaments and frequnt appearances by international guest, the level of play in HK has steadily increased. Visitors will note the style of play is quite diverse, and generally faster and more and hoc than the play in other countries.
